Summer's nearly over.
The crop's in the bin and the dry, earthy smell of grain hangs in the air.
The days are getting shorter; a few of the leaves are starting to turn.
The afternoons are still warm, but the light breezes have their first chill.
Soon birds will start migrating.
I love fall’s odd sense of melancholy and contentment…
